Dutch-style apple pie is one of my favorite ways to enjoy an apple pie, being an apple crisp die hard. It's really the best of both worlds. The apples can be prepared and frozen for when the need for pie arises too.

Granted my experience is pretty limited, being either the mystery sauce ina can or that familiar ol packet of dust that cost $.23 and a can of tomato sauce. I never recognized the flavor being that of barbeque, but I guess that's it's closest relative. I don't remember loving it as a kid, but that's all changed. A meal that was cringeworthy yet somehow also nostalgic has been reimagined into something that is delicious and packed with veggies that the whole family will beg for seconds!
